ALOK • BIOLOGY! • A Comedy Show

ALOK jest uznaną międzynarodowo osobą autorską, znaną ze swojej poezji, występów komediowych i publicznych wystąpień. Ich intermedialna twórczość eksploruje motywy traumy, przynależności oraz ludzkiego życia. 25 września 2023 roku wystąpią w warszawskim Terminalu Kultury, przed nimi ze swoim muzycznym performansem zaprezentuje się również ELSZ.

Pośród dorobku ALOK można wymienić książki “Femme in Public” (2017), “Beyond the Gender Binary” (2020), “Your Wound/My Garden” (2021), a także stworzenie ruchu #DeGenderFashion – inicjatywy mającej na celu oderwanie mody i branży beauty od łatek płciowych. W uznaniu zasług uhonorowano ich inaugurującą rezydenturą badawczą LGBTQ na Uniwersytecie Pensylwanii, przyznano im także nagrody GLAAD Media Awards oraz Stonewall Foundation Visionary Award. W ciągu ostatniej dekady występowali w ponad 40 krajach, niedawno wyprzedając występy w Soho Theatre w Londynie, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Kennedy Performing Arts Center oraz Just for Laughs w Montrealu. Krytycy opisują ich show jako “prowokujące i potężne”, “mocną mieszankę komedii i poezji” oraz “oszałamiające niebiańskie wydarzenie”. Zadebiutują na dużym ekranie w produkcji “Absolute Dominion” u boku Pattona Oswalta, następnie będzie ich można zobaczyć w filmie Emmie Lichtenberg “Complicated Order” zaprezentowanym premierowo na OutFest Film Festival 2023. Warte odnotowania są również role telewizyjne: w docenionym przez krytyków serialu “Sort Of” (MAX), a także dokumentach “Planet Sex with Cara Delevigne” (Hulu), “PRIDE: To Be Seen – A Soul of a National” (ABC) oraz “Getting Curious with Jonathan V” (Netflix).

 ALOK (they/them) is an internationally acclaimed author, poet, comedian, and public speaker. As a mixed-media artist their work explores themes of trauma, belonging, and the human condition. They are the author of Femme in Public (2017), Beyond the Gender Binary (2020), and Your Wound/My Garden (2021) and the creator of #DeGenderFashion: an initiative to degender fashion and beauty industries. In recognition of their work, they have been honored as the inaugural LGBTQ Scholar in Residence at the University of Pennsylvania and awarded a GLAAD Media Award and Stonewall Foundation Visionary Award. Over the past decade, they have toured in more than 40 countries, most recently selling out their runs at the Soho Theatre in London, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Kennedy Performing Arts Center & Just for Laughs Montreal.
