Sören Sieg’s Musical World
Wszystko zaczęło się od Koncertów Domowych, które Sören Sieg organizował od listopada 2021 do sierpnia 2023 w wynajmowanym przez dwa lata domu przy ulicy Zakopiańskiej w Warszawie.
Na początku były to koncerty czysto fortepianowe, podczas których prezentował swoje solowe kompozycje na fortepian, inspirowane Afryką. Jednak od lata 2022 r. program rozszerzył się, stał się coraz bardziej zróżnicowany i złożony. Na festiwalu podsumowującym (pod koniec sierpnia 2023 roku) przez dwa dni wystąpiło 19 artystów! Nasza publiczność była równie międzynarodowa i różnorodna, jak nasi artyści, regularnie włączając gości z Europy, USA, Ameryki Łacińskiej i Azji Środkowej i gromadziła nawet po 100 osób w malutkiej przestrzeni jednego pokoju!
Cechą charakterystyczną tych koncertów, były wyłącznie utwory muzyczne napisane i skomponowane przez uczestniczących w nich artystów. Nie było to „muzeum muzyczne”, ale platforma dla nowej, samodzielnie stworzonej muzyki, obejmującej szerokie spektrum, od skomponowanej i improwizowanej, instrumentalnej i wokalnej, obejmującej artystów krajowych i międzynarodowych, początkujących i profesjonalistów, obejmującą zakres stylistyczny – od inspirowanej Afryką klasyczna muzyka kameralna, jazz, pop, muzyka nowa po muzykę etniczną. Podczas koncertów wystąpili m.in kontrabasista jazzowy Marcin Oleś z Krakowa, muzycy mongolscy prezentujący swoje wyjątkowe instrumenty, Adam Roszkowski na chińskich skrzypcach, Andrew Hrysenko z Ukrainy na klarnecie, Chris Orton z Barcelony i Martina Kominkova z Czech na flecie prostym, Ola Szmidt z Wielka Brytania tworząca pętle wokalne, Borys Janczarski na saksofonie jazzowym, Maciej Łukowski gra na djembe, którego nauczył się w Afryce Zachodniej, Angela Rossel z Augsburga na skrzypcach i Weronika Mietelska na szklanej harfie. Wystąpiły także wspaniałe młode piosenkarki i autorki tekstów: Anett Lychak, Natalie Bernadeta, Zuzanna Kora i Sofiia Feliz.
Połączenie tych wszystkich elementów i zaufanie, jakim publiczność darzyła Artystów, spowodowała, że pośród wszystkich występujących niespodzianek, zawsze znajdzie się dla każdego wystarczająco dużo lśniących diamentów. Sprawiło to, że tego rodzaju wydarzenia stały się tak wyjątkowe, przyjemne i warte odwiedzenia, że koncerty domowe okazały się sukcesem. I wreszcie, co nie mniej ważne, na przestrzeni miesięcy publiczność stała się rodzajem społeczności.
Pragniemy teraz przenieść Koncerty domowe do gościnnej sali Terminala Kultury i zbudować tutaj klimat domowej wspólnoty! Serdecznie zapraszamy na pierwszy z tych koncertów!
Podczas pierwszego koncertu Sören Sieg i Karolina Wolska będą gościć muzyków z wielu stron świata, którzy zaprezentują różne gatunki muzyki:
Karolina Wolska: I studied architecture in Warsaw and Montpellier, worked as a diving instructor in France, Egypt and Mexico and raised three wonderful daughters. I lectured at the Children’s university and wrote for the Murator magazine. Today I run the Cztery Kreski studio and design apartments, houses and public buildings. I love to create open, inviting spaces like this here.
Sören Sieg learned recorder, violin, and piano as a child, later drums, guitar, trumpet and saxophone. After graduating from the Hamburg conservatory he sang 18 years in the a cappella group LALELU and gave more than 2000 concerts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He published 8 theater plays and 12 books, two of them bestsellers, and held two music video competitions. His works were premiered in Taipeh and Paris, Mumbai and Sydney, Berlin and Basel, Amsterdam and Capetown, Tokyo and Antwerp. He sold his music sheet into 24 countries and lives as author and composer in Warsaw and Hamburg.
Ayoub Houmanna is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Morocco mainly in the genre of world music. Since 2016 Ayoub has been actively playing as as a session musician or backing vocalist in different bands from Morocco, Burkina Faso, Poland and the USA: I’m Kora, I’m 19 years old. I recently got in to the Warsaw film school. It’s my first time performing my own song.
Antoni Koniak is 14 years old and plays drums since he was 5. Three years ago he received Rav Vast and hand pans became his new hobby.
Sofiia Feliz: At the age of four, I debuted on stage as a performer of children’s songs. On my 15th birthday, I made my debut on stage with a children’s theater as Bagheera the panther in the fairy tale about Mowgli. I am finishing my tenth academic year at the Kharkiv Specialized School for Musically Gifted Children. I am learning to play the piano, vocal and choral singing, conducting.
Andrii Hrysenko: I am 18 years old. I am a clarinetist, saxophonist and jazzman from Ukraine, from the town of Dnipro. I came to Poland in March with my mother and little brother. Music has been my lifestyle for over ten years. Here in Poland I play at various events and ceremonies, the last of them, as an example, was the final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
Natalia Bernadeta is a jazz singer. Studied English literature at Aston University in Birmingham and music kept her alive during those foggy times. During her master degree at L’Université Sorbonne Paris Nord, in Paris she learnt from encountered artists that music is a form of communication, that storrytelling is the real genre and music can be healing.
Piotr Wróbel (1977) – kompozytor, aranżer, suzafonista, puzonista, performer. Lider Brass Federacji – rasowego brass-bandu, suzafonista Młynarski-Masecki Jazz Band, animator życia muzycznego (m.in. Wiosna Puzonistów i Tubistów, Jesienna Noc Puzonu i Tuby, Letnie Parady Muzyczne i inne). Kompozytor Koncertu na puzon i orkiestrę (stypendium MKiDN) oraz pierwszego na świecie Koncertu na suzafon i orkiestrę (również stypendium MKiDN). Pomysłodawca i „szalony suzafonista na rowerze” charytatywnej akcji Suzafony na pomniki. Prywatnie miłośnik starych aut z duszą i długich wypraw rowerowych.
NOUMS DEMBELE is a musician multi-instrumentalist, performer of Mandingue Music from West Africa. He was born in Djibasso in the North-west of Burkina Faso in West Africa and lives in Warsaw since 2018. The artist mainly plays Kora since 2009, a typical West African Harp, this instrument is inseparable from the Mandinka tradition. He plays also N’goni as well as Balafon.
Dagmar Swystun is a graduate of the Wrocław Academy of Music in the violin class of Victor Kuznetsov. She also graduated with honors from the Faculty of Chamber Music in the class of the famous Artemis Quartet at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. She was also a student in the International Artist Diploma study at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.The violinist is permanently associated with the Ricordanza Solists Ensemble in Wrocław, with which she played about 500 concerts and recorded two albums: Kompilacja – Musica Sacromontana with music by Józef Zaidler (Fryderyk 2008 music award in the category Album of the Year – choral and oratorio music). With the ensemble Ricordanza she recorded an album with the music of Astor Piazzola. Dagmara also collaborates with other orchestras: Częstochowa Philharmonic, Festival Orchestra Berlin, Barock Orchester Berlin, European Vivaldi Players, European Bach Players, where he is deputy concertmaster and concertmaster of the second violin.
Our third public house concert is approaching! This Thursday, on April 11, 19:30, we will have 30 artists from 6 countries on the huge stage of the Terminal Kultury Goclaw:
Ayoub Houmana from Morocco will play the guitar, Noums Dembele from Burkina Faso the Kora (which you might have never heard!), Andrew Hrysenko from Ukraine the clarinet, Dagmara Swystun from Poland the violin, Antoni Koniak from Slovakia the handpan, Maciej Łukowski the West African djembe, Piotr Wróbel the sousaphone, and Jan Pisera the drums, all accompanied by me at the grand piano! Furthermore Karolina and me are happy to present the singer-songwriters Anett, Kora, Natalie Bernadeta, Sofiia Feliz, and Adrian Fijałkowski.
As highlight and finish the Afera Dance Theater will dance to our music!
